Burns Maxey's work explores ways of expression through a range of technologies and slow processes. Art works have analyzed relationships to place and people, history and narratives, through visual storytelling using installation, community-based arts, performance, and works on paper. Being influenced by sign painting and propaganda posters, words and maxims are often central in works. Although repetition often comes into play, Burns avoids one particular style finding joy in experimentation and conceptual exploration.
